“The nice thing about this project was that the job was started in the blueprint stage,” says Fitzsimmons, owner of Fitzsimmons Design Assoc. Inc. “The original plans called for a laundry room in the back half of the room, but the washer and dryer was too much of a squeeze.” So Fitzsimmons rallied to have the laundry moved upstairs and dedicated the entire space to the kitchen.
