Houzz #22

Although Gina often handles the complete design, furnishing, and decor of her clients’ homes, I asked her to take on a more limited project of improving my neutral living room by adding color and by redesigning the fireplace surround. She transformed a nice but rather unexciting room into one that now gets wows from visitors and that makes me happy every time I see it.

After meeting with me for a full discussion of what I liked and did not like about the room, Gina came back with a design plan that took my breath away. The fabric she suggested for new window treatments was beautiful and added the rich color the room needed. She also suggested adding pleated shades that raise from the bottom (or lower from the top) for some needed privacy without cutting off light and views, a functionality that is working very well. But the real stunner of Gina’s design was her suggested changes to the fireplace – replacing the traditional mantel with a stacked stone surround all the way up to the 16 foot high ceiling, with a deep wooden mantel connecting to an adjoining 16 foot tall display cabinet.

Gina’s beautiful design end up looking as good in real life as her initial drawings because of the quality of the professionals she used to carry out the project. Their skill and craftsmanship were outstanding.

Working with Gina was easy because of her professionalism. She respected my taste rather than imposing her own, but she added a level of creativity and style I could never have achieved on my own. She also managed every step of the project, kept me well-informed, and stayed personally involved to the end. This project was worth every penny and I will enjoy it for years to come. I highly recommend Gina and look forward to working with her again.
